A legacy of innovation

Each of our brands was born of ingenuity. It started with Pyrex: Bessie Littleton, wife of a Corning scientist, asked her husband to bring home some glass to use in place of a broken baking dish. He gave her the sawed-off bottoms of some battery jars. A cake was baked, a team of women home-economists were hired to define a line that would meet women's baking needs, and an innovative new brand was born. It's a model we've followed ever since—using technology to create products that make life better everyday

Description

The Corelle Square Simple Lines 9-inch Plate Set includes six plates that are the perfect size for serving lunch or appetizers to family and guests. Each plate features a simple yet stylish design of sweeping black lines on a white background. The design is part of the plate and won''t scratch, wash, or wear off. These plates are made with Corelle triple-layer strong glass, which is lightweight, stackable, and resistant to chips and breaks. The plates in this set are dishwasher safe and can be used in an oven or microwave. Corelle glass is made in the USA, and comes with a three-year limited warranty against manufacturer defect.

There were worn spots or fades over one or more of the lines on each plate, most frequently at the outer edge where the dishes were simply resting against the dishwasher rack. (These pictures show worn spots on one single dinner plate. The one on the side with a single yellow line... Compare the edge space on them. They were both around the edge, not just on top.

This is something I never expected from Corelle Ware. I expected the usual well-baked on patterns. I still have a set of flowers I bought over 15 years ago. The only reason I bought new ones was that some of my old dishes have broken or been lost over the years, but on not one of them did the pattern fail.

This is what Corelle Ware is known for. My dishes went from chic to cheap looking during one wash cycle. If you have to treat Corelle as fine China and hand-wash it?
